The Home of the Sugared Plum is for sale

In case you actually made it though The Sugared Plum without someone telling you the home was for sale... it is for sale. If you loved it, and are interested please call me, Dani at 635-9422. If you want more information you can find it here.

Set, GO!

Whew! That was fun! I can't thank all y'all enough for braving the cold and coming out. We had a fantastic turnout and it seemed everyone had a great time and found a treasure or 2 or 17 to take home. There is talk of a re-run early February, pre-Valentines Day repeat? Anyone want to? Feel free to let us know what we could do better, what did you love, what didn't work, what would you like to see more of, less of (no kissing booths)? I don't know if you are still out there now that the dust has settled, but if you are-feel free to leave a comment. (Thanks for the kind emails)

What should I get for my brother?

Ages 3-53. (The multi-load rubber band gun.)

Vinylicious is soooo delicious.

Need I say more?

Steppin' out in Style!

So we have parties galore, and nothing to wear! It's a good thing you're headed to The Sugared Plum! Shall I wear this? or this? And do I wear it with this? or that? And I'll be needing the perfect accesories...how about this? Now, just a great bag to haul my junk in...maybe this one?

Grab some great earrings, beautiful necklace, funky bracelet- I am ready to go! See you Friday!

New Baby?

The Sugared Plum is full of fabulous baby stuff! Bows, clips, bracelets, pacifer clips, blankets, hooded towels, clothes, shoes, we are not selling diapers (although if you are in a pinch I will have one in my bag). There are 2 new and exciting items you must have that I wanted to show-

First is the HugaMonkey baby sling. They come in a bunch of different styles, even reversible! It is the easiest and most comfortable way to tote the new one along.

Second is the Busy Baby nursing cover also recently featured on Good Things Utah. Look stylish and trendy while feeding your baby. The Busy Baby covers have NO stand-out patterns that may attract unwanted attention while nursing. Nobody needs to know you are even nursing!

Both are great gifts for your loved ones that are expecting!

The Bagette

After kicking and screaming and begging and pleading, Molly Rubert has finally conceded to participate in The Sugared Plum. Her bagettes were recently featured on Good Things Utah and are the perfect gift for a certain teenage girl, or sister who acts like a teenage girl... or anyone that can appreciate a fun, little bag. I think it is the perfect size for sneaking candy into the theater.

Fancy Girl

Take a look at these! Have you ever seen a ballerina, fairy, or Christmas tree made of ribbon that can adorn a sweet little girls hair? You know you want one. My 4 year old is going to have a fit.

The Red Pomegranate

I tried them in my bath last night- Oh my, they are amazing! They are all natural, homemade, and fantastic. There will be a choice of several different flavors, you'll have to buy one of each.

Santa Claus is coming to town!

Santa (The REAL Santa with a real beard and real boots) will be stopping by The Sugared Plum on Saturday from 10:00 am to noon. One of our photographers will be taking pictures that will be emailed to you for $5.00!

Wooden spoons aren't just for stirin'!

OK people listen up. My sister-in-law made these adorable nativity sets that your children will love to play with. The spoons slide out of the wooden block for puppet shows. She only made 14 and is selling them for $26.00- $32.00 depending on the size of the spoon. Please don't fight.

Karmel Designs

Karmel just moved to Bountiful from Velencia, California. While Karmel typically takes custom orders for her layouts and holiday cards, she will be offering these beautiful and unique custom tiles at the Sugared Plum for you to take home that day!

They are beautiful and come in many different styles and sizes, and can be used as a Christmas tree ornament!

cookies, cookies, COOKIES!

My mom, Cozette, has her own catering company, Custom Celebrations...
(side note: I know, I know, my mom, my grandma, geez! My sister-in-law will also be a vendor, but that is it for my family, I swear!)
Anyway, she will be bringing gourmet cookies in jars so you can grab one for a nibble while you shop, or fill a cellophane bag with a mix to take home.

She will also have her world famous (if Salt Lake is your world) sugar cookies, chocolate sauce, carmel sauce and honey butter.

The Talented Sarah McKay

Is coming with all of her delicious homemade breads, but what is really exciting is the email I received from her today "...I made these AMAZING rolls today-- cinnamon sugar rolled up inside and orange zest glaze drizzled over the top! Oh my...these are GOOD..." Crap. I just drooled on the keyboard.

Shhhhhhh!

If keeping your kids quiet during church is a problem, The Sugared Plum offers 2 solutions...

For the older kids, Jot It Down is offering the above 3 notepads (5.5 by 8.5" & 50 pages each) in a cool, clear vinyl pouch with a couple of pencils for a whopping $18.00.

For the younger bunch Shoe Spices is offering this fantastic Busy Book for $28.00. It must be great because my sister and my BFF have it already.

Howdy Pardner!

Curious Workmanship, Sarah Natividad hand crochets these booties that are so cute they make me want to cry. Or ride a horse. $17.00-$19.00!

Miss Audrey McClellan

Is 14 years old and has invented her own way of 'knitting' these fantastic scarves. When Audrey's mom wears one of her scarves she gets complimented everywhere she goes. We are thrilled she has some for us to fight over!

My Grandma Ber

My grandma, Berylene is a master candy maker, but she didn't start out that way. She made her first attempt at 15 with a batch of divinity which was too runny to be recognized as divinity so her family ate it with spoons. But making good use of the stubborn determination she was born with, she soon perfected both the recipe and the technique. Her next experiment in disaster was a batch of butter mints that turned into little hockey pucks. After much practice she was turning out melt-in-your-mouth morsels that have been enjoyed at weddings across the Salt Lake Valley for several decades.
And so the pattern was established. Berylene wanted to make the best candy people had ever tasted and through the years she has accomplished that goal over and over again - with caramel and hand-dipped turtles which her friends renamed "Bertles" in her honor. Her licorice toffee recipe won an award and her peanut brittle has received wide acclaim. At first she made her wonderful candy just for family and friends. But when requests to buy her treats became numerous, she began to make and sell her candy, both from her home and at my Grandpa's drycleaners.

Pretzel Sandwiches, English Toffee, Bertles, Pecan Logs...YUM!
